VA fee disclosure

Per 38 U.S.C. § 5904 and 38 CFR § 14.636, no fee may be charged for assistance with an initial VA disability claim before the VA issues a Notice of Disagreement or initial decision. After that threshold, VA-accredited attorneys and agents may charge fees, with contingent fees capped at 20% of past-due benefits when paid directly by VA, or other reasonable fee arrangements as permitted.
